Gate Rush is a fast arithmetic reflex game. Solve the question, fly into the lane with the correct answer and pass through the gate. One run takes 20-90 seconds - perfect for a quick brain sprint.
Score one point for every gate you pass through the correct answer. The run ends at the first wrong gate - then you restart with one tap and try to beat your personal best.
Tap the top or bottom half to move one lane up or down
Tap an answer plate to jump straight to that lane
Move one lane up or down
Jump to the top / middle / bottom lane
Same as 1 / 2 / 3
Start the run, or fly again after a game over
Use Time Warp / Wall Off when you hold a charge
Pause and resume. The game also pauses itself when you switch tabs
Addition up to 20. The gentlest start; sums cross over 10 as you improve.
Subtraction up to 20, including borrowing at higher scores.
Multiplication tables from 2 to 10, from the easy tables up to the tricky 7s and 8s.
A mix of all operations. The blend shifts toward harder ones as you score.
Each mode keeps its own personal best, saved on this device.
Pick one of 8 pixel pilots: Goldy, Skye, Luna, Hopper, Rusty, Sofia, Coco and Rex. Looks only - every character flies exactly the same.
Every consecutive correct answer grows your streak, with small celebrations at 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30.
At a streak of 10 you earn a shield (one at a time). It absorbs one wrong gate: the game slows down briefly, shows the right answer and the run continues. Your streak resets, your score stays.
At a streak of 5 (then 20, 35...) you earn Time Warp. Use it with Q or its button: the world slows to 40% for five seconds so you can calculate in peace. It ends early once you pass the gate.
At a streak of 7 (then 22, 37...) you earn Wall Off. Use it with E or its button: one wrong opening is bricked up and two answers remain. You hold at most one charge of each power - they are earned, never bought.
The game aims to keep you succeeding about 8-9 times out of 10. Fast correct answers gently raise the challenge, slow answers hold it steady, and mistakes ease it off. Speed and question difficulty never spike at the same time.
A missed question comes back later in the run - first as a related fact, then the original one. Facts you keep missing return at the start of your next session, and when a run ends on a fact you have missed twice, a short hint explains it.
All game sounds on or off. Shared with the rest of Goldy.
How loud the sound effects are, in 10 steps.
Short vibrations on milestones and the shield, on supported phones. Off by default.
System follows your device's reduced-motion preference; Reduced always calms the visuals (fewer particles, no parallax); Full always shows everything.
Bigger answer numbers on the gates.
Stronger plate colors and thicker borders for readability.
Shows three large answer buttons under the game - play by tapping them instead of steering. Great for screen readers and one-hand play.
Calm speed makes the whole run about 25% slower - great for younger players. The math stays the same.
Two lanes shows only a top and a bottom answer (the middle is bricked up). Its records count on a separate best-score board.
Auto assist fires your held powers by itself when the gate is close and you are not on the correct lane. Always on in Relaxed difficulty.
The gate timer bar shows how much time is left before the gate arrives, as a row of pixels under the question.
Reads each question out loud using your device's voice - for players who prefer listening.
Moves the power buttons (and mirrors the answer buttons) to the left or right edge for one-handed play.
Also pauses the game when the window loses focus, not just when you switch tabs.
How the challenge behaves:
Reset best clears only the current mode's record. Reset progress deletes all best scores and practice history on this device, after a confirmation - your settings are kept.
You can link straight into a configured game: add mode, character, pref, buttons=1 or autostart=1 to the game address. Example:
