Section 1 / 3
ADDING THREE NUMBERS AT ONCE

When you see three numbers to add, don't just go left to right! Look for clever pairs - two numbers that make 10 (or another friendly number). Add those first, then add the third.

4 + 3 + 6
1Look for pairs that make 10: 4 + 6 = 10
210 + 3 = 13
= 13

LEADER TIP

Always ask students to look for pairs that make 10 before adding straight through. The order of addition does not matter!
