FINDING ALL FACTORS

Factors are numbers that divide evenly into another number. To find all factors of 12: try 1 (1×12✓), 2 (2×6✓), 3 (3×4✓), 4 (already found). Factors come in pairs! Once the pairs start repeating, you have found them all.

Find all factors of 12
11 × 12 = 12
22 × 6 = 12
33 × 4 = 12
4Factors: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12
= 6

LEADER TIP

Use factor pairs systematically. Start from 1 × n, then 2 × ?, then 3 × ?. Stop when pairs start repeating.
