Section 1 / 2
CONVERTING BETWEEN FORMS

To compare fractions, decimals, and percentages, convert them to the same form. Fraction > percentage: divide then ร— 100. Decimal > percentage: ร— 100. For example, to compare 3/5 and 0.7: 3/5 = 60% and 0.7 = 70%, so 0.7 is bigger.

Convert 3/5 to a percentage
13/5 = 3 รท 5 = 0.6
20.6 ร— 100 = 60%
= 60
Which is larger: 70% or 3/4?
13/4 = 75%
275% > 70%
33/4 is larger
= 3/4

LEADER TIP

When comparing fractions with different denominators, convert to percentages. It's a universal comparison tool.
